History
1478 - Pazzi conspirators attacked Lorenzo and kill Giuliano de'Medici.

1514 - Copernicus made his first observations of Saturn.

1607 - The British established an American colony at Cape Henry, Virginia. It was the first permanent English establishment in the Western Hemisphere.

1865 - John Wilkes Booth (Lincoln's Assassin) was killed by the U.S. Federal Cavalry.

1929 - First non-stop flight from England to India was completed.

1937 - German planes attacked Guernica, Spain, during the Spanish Civil War.

1982 - Argentina surrendered to Britain over the Falkland Island Crisis.

1986 - The world’s worst nuclear disaster to date occurred at Chernobyl, in the Ukraine. 31 died in the incident and thousands more were exposed to radioactive material.

  1. I like, I like a lot. History was my favourite subject at the Prydonian Academy. In fact, if I was ever 2 b edurkated proper like, it wud b in histry.

  2. ka-os|theory - seriously, you've never heard of that painting? It's one of the most famous works of fine art of the 20th century.

    PS: re your interest in history, I remember reading, somewhere, that Doctor Who fans fitted into five categories: Science geeks; Horror and Fantasy geeks; History geeks; Writers and Actors (ie, hammy loudmouthed geeks); and people who are a little bit of some/all of the above. How many do YOU fit into...?
